There was one new Covid-related fatality recorded in Meghalaya today, along with 22 new cases of the disease and 33 recoveries.
The lone death was in East Garo Hills. This is the first fatality in Meghalaya related to Covid-19 since June 17 and only the second since March 24.
There was one new infection in East Garo, 13 in East Khasi Hills, two in Ri-Bhoi, five in West Garo Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills.
Twelve recoveries were in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi, one in South West Garo Hills and 19 in West Garo Hills.
There are now 99 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Khasi Hills 58, Eastern West Khasi Hills one, Ri-Bhoi nine, West Garo Hills 29 and West Jaiñtia Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,063 Covid-19 cases, 92,369 have recovered and 1,595 have died from the virus. Two patients are being treated in hospital with the disease – both in East Khasi Hills.
