In a swift action, city police today nabbed the person who trespassed into a residential compound at Jaiaw Langsning and assaulted a man at the compound.
It may be mentioned that on July 3 at around 2 pm, one person entered inside the compound of the aunty of Leo Dangdonborlang Sun at the Rani Motors junction, Jaiaw Langsning with malafide intention.
On seeing the accused trespassing into the compound, Sun shouted and chased the man away for which a scuffle ensued. During the scuffle, Sun was assaulted and sustained injuries on his leg and head. The man fled from the scene.
On July 4, Sun and his sister went to Lumdiengjri police station and filed an FIR on the incident.
In this connection, police registered a case under sections 506 and 325 of IPC.
The accused identified as Banpyrkhat Lyngdoh Nonglait (32) was arrested today at around 12:30 pm from Iewduh. He is being forwarded to court.
The incident was also caught on CCTV which helped the police to identify the accused. The video was also circulated on WhatsApp.
