Nine students from Patharkhmah Government Higher Secondary School in Ri-Bhoi have not received their SSLC results.
According to information, the nine students, who had opted for tourism as a subject, did not get their results allegedly because a teacher involved has been accused of misconduct.
Worried parents informed the matter to a pressure group and Sordar of Patharkhmah who have tried to take up the matter.
Meanwhile, Jirang MLA Sostenes Sohtun felicitated Sohan Thapa, a local student who secured 15th position in the recently declared SSLC examination.
Thapa, a student of New Era Secondary School in 11th Mile, Mawsmai, received a laptop and cash award from the legislator. Sohtun had, one year back, announced rewards for students who feature in the top 20 in the state.
The felicitation programme was also attended by Thapa’s parents and teachers along with school children. Sohtun informed that this award is meant to encourage and inspire students to pursue higher studies.
