Over 400 women join the Trinamool Congress today and formed the Resubelpara Block Mahila Trinamool Committee.
TMC is a women-centric party and has been working tirelessly to empower women since its inception, taking the rights of women forward, MDC Rinaldo Sangma said. He said the party has vowed to work for each and every Meghalayan woman for their better future and prosperity.
“I am very glad to see large number of people today for the formation of Mahila block committee, never in the history of Resubelpara have we seen around 400 women joining a party for a much needed change, and I thank everyone for turning up and putting up a successful show. The connectivity here is a huge issue along with severe healthcare and development issues,” Sangma said, adding, “The attendance today itself shows that people wants an alternative governance for their better future.”
The committee will be headed by Saithina Shira as president.
“I welcome each and every woman who joined us today at the event. As we continue to expand, I would like to reassure everyone that the committee will work day and night for the issues related to women, and for the overall development of our constituency,” Shira said.
