North Garo Hills (police recovered a huge quantity of liquor sold illegally at Manikanj and Rari bazaar areas yesterday.
Raids was conducted by the Mendipathar police to control unregulated selling of liquor and also to prevent drunken driving and other crimes that may take place due to these unregulated selling during this festive season.
The district police said that some miscreants are taking advantage of the Easter and Bihu celebrations and are trying to make a quick buck by selling sell liquor illegally in the market.
The liquor was confiscated and necessary follow up actions are being taken up against the miscreants, police said.
