An awareness programme on “Neighbourhood Youth Parliament and Personal Contact” was conducted for students of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Rynjah today.
The progamme was organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) in collaboration with the Minot Multi-Function Society with an aim to create awareness on the various central government schemes.
Over 50 students of the ITI participated in the programme.
The resource persons Bastowell Wankhar, Additional Programme Officer and Balariphylla Kharhunai, Block Co-ordinator of Mawpat C&RD Block, spoke at length on the various schemes stressing on schemes related to Skills, Labour Welfare, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Women, Children and Old Age, Urban Development, water and sanitation, Housing and Amenities.
Later in the day, L Khongrymmai, Functional Manager, DCIC, Shillong gave an in-depth insight to the Students on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), for which the one can avail loan from the Bank with 25 per cent (urban) and 35 per cent (rural) subsidy.
