Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today inaugurated the Ïew Dorbar Shnong Malki where 25 beneficiaries also received the keys to their own shops in the complex.
The event also saw the presence of local MLA Ampareen Lyngndoh and MDC Fantin Lakadong.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangma said that people’s lives and livelihoods can be changed through this project.
Besides the 25 shopkeepers, the benefits of the project will be further felt by the people living and passing through the area, as drains have been covered, the nearby stream protected and the land and space utilised appropriately.
He also added that the government has started a unique project of beautification where financial support is being given to the localities for cleaning projects, beautification projects and painting projects of their own carried out by the people in their own localities.
