Polling stations within Mawsynram and Sohiong constituencies will be transformed into centres for Covid-19 vaccination on January 28-29, the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has informed.
Besides, vaccination, people visiting the polling stations on those days can also avail of other benefits, such as registering for e-Shram (the national database for unorganised workers), Aadhaar enrolment and Aadhaar seeding for ration card holders. Vaccination is open to those 15 and above. Booster doses for frontline workers and those 60 and above with co-morbidities will also be offered for those who took their second jab at least 39 weeks prior.
The DC urged those who are still not vaccinated against Covid-19 to get the jab, especially since the Omicron variant is now present in the country.
