The Ri Bhoi Student’s Union (RBSU) has claimed poor implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Umroi area.
The union today filed an application seeking information under the Right to Information Act on implementation of the central scheme.
RBSU working president, Amberlight Masharing said that information was sought from the PHE department of Umroi Sub Division after the organisation received a number of complaints from the people.
He told reporters in Nongpoh that people have complaint that there are households that do not even get the functional household tap connection (FHTC) as per the scheme and that few contractors don’t cooperate with the Village Water Sanitation Committee (VWSC) and use using sub-standard quality materials.
