Water supply will be affected in several areas in Shillong after a pipeline burst at Pomlum village, Upper Shillong, the Executive Engineer (PHE), GSWS Division No-II, Mawphlang informed today.
“Due to the breakdown of 750 mm dia pipeline there will be no water supply till the evening of 30th October,, 2021,” the PHE said in a statement.
This is the second time that the department had to shut water supply after a breakdown on September 16.
The areas which will be affected during the above mentioned period are Shillong Municipal Board areas, Shillong Cantonment Board areas, Nongthymmai and Mawlai.
The statement said efforts are on to complete the repair works for restoration of normal water supply by Saturday evening.
