The seven-day rolling average of new Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya hit a nine-day high of 194.29 today.
Statewide there were 168 new infections, 148 recoveries and five fatalities.
Three deaths were in East Khasi Hills and two in West Jaintia Hills. Four of the five were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
West Khasi Hills recorded 71 new cases today, East Khasi Hills 60, South West Khasi Hills 20, West Jaintia Hills 13 and four between the other seven districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 66 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 39, Ri-Bhoi 13, West Jaintia Hills 10 and 20 between the other seven districts.
There are now 1,891 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 837 active cases, West Khasi Hills 393, West Jaintia Hills 308, Ri-Bhoi 159, South West Khasi Hills 105, West Garo Hills 41, East Jaintia Hills 18, East Garo Hills 11, South West Garo Hills nine, North Garo Hills eight and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 79,493 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,891 are active, 76,223 have recovered and 1,379 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 95.89 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 194.29 and for new deaths is 3.29.
