The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) will hold a sit-in demonstration on September 14 at Malki playground here to protest against its unhappiness with the way the state government has handled their demands over the past few years.
The demands include the enhancement of salaries for the 12,500-plus SSA teachers in Meghalaya, to bring all the teachers under the Education Department and to release pending salaries.
Association president, Aristotle C Rymbai, said that the general executive committee of the MSSASA took the decision on September 7 and informed that the sit-in will see SSA representatives from the block, district and state levels take part.
