Three persons including a woman were arrested along with over 8,400 kgs of Yaba tablets worth around Rs 1.8 crore today.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said that the district Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) along with police from had carried out a search at the resident of a woman at Lapalang.
The team, in the presence of locality members conducted recovered the drug that was trafficked from Myanmar to be smuggled across the border to Bangladesh, Nongtnger said.
He further informed that on the leading of the accused woman, two more suspects were arrested.
A case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 is being registered at Rynjah police station.
