Sixty-nine more beds were allocated to the care of Covid-19 patients in the state’s hospitals and makeshift facilities today but the occupancy rate was still over 70 percent, with 32 more occupied.
Health Department data shows that there are now 978 such beds allocated for the treatment of Covid-19 patients (121 in intensive care units (ICUs) and 857 oxygen-supported beds). As of today 693 are occupied.
Some of the additional beds were set up in the Old Deputy Commissioner’s office in Khliehriat (10 oxygen-supported beds), Children’s Hospital in Shillong (three oxygen-supported, one ICU), Mini Secretariat in Mawkyrwat (six oxygen-supported), Chokpot Community Health Centre (three oxygen-supported) and Resubelpara CHC (eight oxygen-supported).
