Seventy-three percent of all the hospital beds set aside for Covid-19 patients in Meghalaya are currently occupied, according to data released by the Health Department.
The data shows that there are 909 such beds allocated for the treatment of Covid-19 patients (120 in intensive care units (ICUs) and 789 oxygen-supported beds). As of today 661 are occupied.
The occupancy rate ranges from one in 12 beds at Nongstoin Civil Hospital (8.33 percent) to 98 percent in Bethany Hospital in Shillong (49 out of 50 occupied).
