The oxygen plant at Jowai Civil Hospital will take another three weeks to become functional, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said today.
The minister said this after meeting officials of West Jaiñtia Hills in Jowai.
Rymbui was accompanied by other MLAs from the region, namely Sniawbhalang Dhar, Wailadmiki Shylla, Comingone Ymbon and others.
Rymbui also said that the district needs more 108 ambulances and a corna care centre.
He also urged the public to get vaccinated – so far only 14,000 out of 41,000 people in the 45 and over age group have been vaccinated in the district, which is only around one-third.
