In its continuing drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where seven cases were uncovered in March wherein 25 litres of indigenous liquor and 1.98 litres of IMFL were seized. Five people were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
