The Williamnagar Municipal Board (WMB) has issued a notification under the Meghalaya Municipal Act 1973 prohibiting stray cattle, goats, pigs and dogs in all localities falling under Williamnagar Town and directed the owners of domestic animals to keep them in proper sheds without causing inconveniences to the government offices, institutions and other bodies.
The notification also said that failure to comply with the order will invite penalties according to municipal laws.
