The 6th Meghalaya Police Battalion today took part in a legal awareness programme on police-public relations, organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of Ri-Bhoi in Umsning.
Thirty female members of self-help groups (SHGs) of Nangsanbha village took part in this progamme.
The resource persons for the progamme were advocate Franky Nongbet, who spoke on FIRs, rights of arrested persons, right to bail and right to legal aid and 6th Battalion Commandant Lakador Syiem, who spoke on how to bridge the gap in police-public relations.
