Meghalaya saw 41 new cases of Covid-19 reported in the state today, along with 43 recoveries and no new fatalities.
Of the new cases 37 were in East Khasi Hills, two West Garo Hills and one each in Ri-Bhoi and West Khasi Hills.
In East Khasi Hills there were four new infections among armed forces/paramilitaries, 10 among health workers and two returnees. There were also four in the Nongmynsong cluster, two in Nongrim Hills, two in Pynthorbah and two in Law-u-Sib.
The recoveries were divided between West Jaiñtia Hills (26), East Khasi Hills (seven), East Garo Hills (five), Ri-Bhoi (two), North Garo Hills (one), West Garo Hills (one) and West Khasi Hills (one).
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,299 Covid-19 cases, of which 430 are active, 12,735 have recovered and 134 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 95.76 percent. The fatality rate is 1.01 percent.
The Health Department also informed that around 1,500 Covid-19 tests were carried out in the state in the last 24 hours.
