There were 59 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Meghalaya today, along with 37 recoveries and no fatalities.
In all, Meghalaya has had 11,513 Covid-19 cases, of which 915 are active, 10,488 have recovered and 110 have died from the virus.
Of the new cases 27 were in East Khasi Hills, 17 in West Garo Hills, eight in West Jaiñtia Hills, four in Ri-Bhoi and one each in East Jaiñtia Hills, South West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills.
In East Khasi Hills’ clusters, six new infections were detected in Nongkrem Nongthymmai, four in Nongrah, three in Lummawbah and two each in Laban and Madanrting. Three returnees also tested positive. In West Garo Hills five were in Upper Derenggre, three in Selsella and three in Madynagar.
The new recoveries were split between East Khasi Hills (19), East Garo Hills (six), West Garo Hills (six), Ri-Bhoi (four) and South West Garo Hills (two).
The Health Department also informed that around 1,500 Covid-19 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours.
