Shillong, Sep 16: The first MLA Connect Programme of the 28-Sohra Assembly Constituency was held at Sohkynduh village on Wednesday, with participation from Sohkynduh, Rymmai Mawskhen and Mawbawein villages.
Chaired by Laitkroh C&RD Block BDO Wankhrawkupar Kharbuli, the programme was attended by Sohra MLA Gavin Miguel Mylliem, Acting Chief of Sohra Mynjurlang Majaw, department officials, village headmen and residents.
Addressing the gathering, Mylliem said the programme aims to strengthen communication between elected representatives, communities and departments, and provide a grassroots platform to understand people’s challenges.
Residents raised key concerns over healthcare facilities, poor roads and village pathways, inadequate drinking water supply and frequent power outages affecting daily life and mobility.
Officials assured coordinated action and said the issues would be taken up with higher authorities.
