Shillong, May 23: Oscar M Memorial Higher Secondary School, Shillong celebrated its silver jubilee, marking 25 years of dedicated educational service to the community.
Established in 2001, this co-educational institution has a rich history of providing quality English-medium education, nurturing countless students over the years.
The school’s roots trace back to the legacy of (L) Oscar M Wahlang, a noted Khasi poet and community visionary, whose influence continues to inspire the institution.
Parents, alumni, and well-wishers gathered to honour accomplishments, celebrating a significant milestone in the school’s journey.
The celebration was attended by Nongthymmai MLA Charles Pyngrope and Scientist E of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Dr H Tynsong as guests.
In his speech, Pyngrope highlighted the school’s achievements and commitment to educational excellence. He also announced a grant-in-aid to support further enhancements in the school’s infrastructure.
The event featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing the talents of students through music and dance. Special awards were presented to outstanding students for their academic achievements and contributions to school life.
