Shillong, Feb 23: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), under the Department of Labour, Employment and Skill Development, organised a recruitment drive at Ampati today.
In her address, South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Anendya Raajsshre described the recruitment drive as one of the first initiatives of its kind in the district, highlighting it as a novel and forward-looking intervention by the government.
Approximately 600 participants attended the drive, comprising primarily unemployed youth, aspiring candidates seeking placements outside the state, and individuals exploring overseas employment prospects.
By decentralising employment services and taking such initiatives to district headquarters, the government aims to ensure equitable access to opportunities and promote inclusive growth across Meghalaya, a press release stated.
