Shillong, Jan 7: A three-day Civil Defence training programme concluded in Mairang, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, on Wednesday.
Organised by the Office of the Civil Defence, Mairang the programme aimed to equip youths with essential knowledge and skills on self-protection and emergency response.
The training covered practical sessions on first aid, safety measures, search and rescue, and setting up relief camps. Participants, led by Inspector of Civil Defence Skhembor Syiemiong, learned to administer first aid, rescue victims, and respond to emergencies.
The programme drew a large number of enthusiastic youths, eager to learn and assist in disaster situations.
