Shillong, Jan 6: The East Jaintia Hills district police are hunting suspects involved in the murder of a man in Wahsarang village recently.
East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police Vikash Kumar has confirmed that police teams are conducting operations to apprehend the suspects involved in the murder of Milas Khaii, a father of 11, who died on January 1 due to injuries sustained during a violent assault on Christmas night.
According to reports the attack, was allegedly led by the village headman, who led a group barging into the victims’ home in Wahsarang village and assaulting two brothers with sticks and a wooden stool.
The family has alleged threats, harassment, and obstruction of medical help.
Police have registered an FIR naming eight accused and launched raids, but all suspects remain absconding.
