Shillong, Dec 30: With large numbers of people expected to throng Police Bazaar on New Year’s Eve on Wednesday, police will implement a no entry zone on roads leading to Khyndailad.
This was informed by Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem.
The no entry zone will apply from 5pm. Vehicular traffic will be diverted at Kachari point towards Raj Bhavan junction and from Umsohsun junction (GS Road) towards Boucher Road and Motphran.
Vehicles will be allowed to park only on one side of the roads, i.e., from Centenary junction to Rap’s Mansion junction and from Pinewood junction to Botanical Garden junction. Citizens were requested to plan their journey accordingly.
Only emergency service vehicles will be allowed to ply through Khyndailad and will be facilitated, Syiem said.
