Shillong, Sep 12: The East Khasi Hills district administration has launched a 90-day Aadhaar enrolment and biometric capture drive across all blocks and selected villages to increase coverage.
Aadhaar seeding will also be carried out during the drive to facilitate access to government schemes and services including MGNREGA, MHIS, NFSA, banking services, scholarships, NSAP old age pension, LPG connection and mobile connections, the administration informed.
The Deputy Commissioner has urged all citizens who are yet to enrol for Aadhaar to do so and advised existing holders to update mobile numbers linked with Aadhaar wherever required.
Citizens can avail services at Aadhaar centres/camps at Deputy Commissioner’s office, Shillong, Block Development Officers’ offices or at camps organised by BDOs in coordination with government departments, a press release said.
