In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the district administration of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 12 cases were uncovered in July wherein an amount of indigenous liquor totalling 31.95 litres and 39.63 litres of IMFL were seized.
Nine people were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
The cases are under different stages of investigation/prosecution.
