Four persons accused of robbery from a petrol pump in Meghalaya have been arrested in Nagaland, police said today.
A joint police team of the two states nabbed the four persons, identified as Bokavi Zhimoni (25), Pashen Lam (32), Rokonngulie Keppu (18) and Tsalipi (26), from Nagaland yesterday, Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police Jagpal S Dhanoa said.
He said they were produced before a court in Nongpoh in Ri-Bhoi district during the day and were remanded to five days in police custody.
The accused had assaulted the manager and staff and made off with Rs 4, 24, 614 lakh in cash and three mobile phones from the Umran petrol refilling centre in Niangbyrnai village on August 25.
Police said a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number NI.07 CB-0156 has also been seized which was used by the gang in the robbery.
