Four people were injured after the SUV they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck today morning in Dolongnar on National Highway 6 in Ri-Bhoi.
The incident occurred at around 6:45am. The Mahindra Scorpio (ML 05 A 9933) was on its way from Shillong to Guwahati while the Nagaland-registered truck (NL 01 N 6449) was travelling in the opposite direction.
The injured persons were taken to Bethany Hospital for medical treatment.
Due to work on the highway by the National Highways Authority of India, vehicles on the Shillong-Guwahati route from Umdihar up to Dulongnar have been diverted into the Guwahati-Shillong lane.
The Scorpio was badly damaged and police are investigating further.
