After a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the Lympung of the Seng Khasi Sein Raij will be held at Kyrphei village in East Khasi Hills from April 14.
The three-day event organised by the Seng Khihlang, formed by Seng Khasi and Sein Raij, is to remind the Khasi Pnar people of their culture and traditional beliefs and at the same time, envisages a need to preserve the rich cultures of the indigenous Khasi Pnar people.
During the 33rd Lympung a monolith will be taken to Kyrphei from Narwan in East Jaiñtia Hills on April 14 at 7 am, a press release here said. The monolith will halt for 10 minutes each in Tuber, Muthlong (Phramer), Ialong, Jowai, Mukhla in Jaintia Hills, Mawryngkneng, Ladsmit, Marbisu, Mawngap, Mawphlang in the Khasi Hills for followers to offer prayers.
