Altogether 293 students were felicitated today during the 20th meritorious award for students 2023 organised by the Raid Laban Sports and Cultural Organisation.
Speaking as the resource person on the occasion, former MLA and Manas Chaudhuri said recognizing merit is a commendable activity that the organisation has been doing for years.
“When we recognise merit it means we are investing in our youth and our future which is highly commendable,” he said.
He said as a student, there will be many stepping stones to cross. “What is most important is whatever you become in life you need to be useful to others. If you are not useful to others, with all your merit, talent, position, authority and wealth, it will just die with you but if you do for others it will live forever,” he added.
Speaking to reporters President of the RLSSCO and MLA South Shillong Sanbor Shullai informed that out of 293 students, 42 toppers were also given laptops.
