Police arrested two women and a man from Police Bazar here and seized 63.46 grams of heroin from their possession today.
The arrest was made during a swift operation conducted by the Anti Narcotic Task Force of East Khasi Hills.
The accused have been identified as Esther Lalramdinmaw of Demthring, Lalthanpui Hmar of Happy Valley, Block-F and Rudy Wahlang of Jaiaw Langsning.
Police said the drug was concealed in five soap cases. Cash of Rs 35,900, four mobile phones and an Aprilia scooty were also seized from the accused.
Investigation is on to trace forward and backward linkages into the drug smuggling case.
