Shillong, Aug 24: The Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) Shillong, in collaboration with AIIMS Guwahati and the HTAIn Secretariat, Department of Health Research (DHR), organised a sensitisation meeting on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for the Northeast at AIIMS Guwahati.
The meeting aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of HTA and promote the use of evidence-informed approaches in healthcare priority-setting and decision-making across the northeastern states.
Over 50 policymakers, researchers and health officials from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh attended.
Joint Secretary, DHR, Manisha Saxena was the chief guest. Meghalaya Health Secretary Sampath Kumar and Assam NHM Mission Director Dr Lakshmanan S shared state perspectives.
A highlight was the launch of the “Compendium of HTA Technologies – Northeast Edition” by Saxena. Prepared by IIPH Shillong and AIIMS Guwahati, the compendium consolidates evidence on clinical and cost-effectiveness of health technologies relevant to the region.
