A lightning strike in Mowshadep village under Laskeiñ Block, West Jaiñtia Hills district injured four people, two of whom sustained severe injuries.
According to reports, the incident occurred yesterday at around 2 pm. The injured persons are H. Ting of Mooshrot, B. Tyngkan of Niawkmai, P. Sten of Mukroh and S. Lyngdoh of Sahsniang.
Local said all the injured persons were returning from a funeral. When it started to rain, they took shelter under a banyan tree when a bolt of lightning struck them.
All the injured persons were taken for medical attention and the condition of the other two persons is said to be critical.
