The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC), Southern Border zone has urged the MePDCL to install a power transformer at Bataw Mihsngi Colony village in East Jaiñtia Hills district.
Leader of the JNC led by general secretary, Marbaitlang P Suchiang met with the Executive Engineer of Khliehriat Division and submitted a letter with the request.
According to the group, hundreds of houses are reeling under darkness and the authorities continue to remain a mute spectator despite several requests.
Urging the EE to immediately take up the matter the JNC also called for replacement of rusted electricity pole to prevent any mishap.
