The senior men’s selection committee of the Meghalaya Cricket Association has chosen 15 players as well as five standbys for the first three matches of the U-23 men’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2024-25.
The tournament is in a multi-day format and Meghalaya will play their first fixture against Punjab from 13 to 16 October. The team will face Andhra Pradesh (20-23 October) and Himachal Pradesh (27-30 October) after that.
Meghalaya were promoted from to the elite level after finishing second in the Plate Group to Nagaland in 2023-24. Meghalaya had won all six matches on their way to the title match but could not beat hosts Nagaland in the final.
This season the Meghalaya boys will have much bigger opponents to face and they will surely learn a lot by playing against these top teams.
Meghalaya are undergoing a preparatory camp in Bengaluru from where they will leave for the tournament on 10 October.
