In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 13 cases were uncovered in January, wherein indigenous liquor totalling 76.5 litres and 146.145 litres of IMFL were seized.
Eleven persons were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
