In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 16 cases were uncovered in March wherein indigenous liquor totalling 52.50 litres and 14.01 litres of IMFL were seized.
Ten people were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today. The cases are under different stages of investigation/prosecution.
