One person identified as Ajay Kharhujon was severely assaulted up by unknown miscreants on July 2 and died on July 5, according to a delayed report.
Saphir Kharhujon, the victim’s mother, filed a FIR at Umiam police station the following day. According to the FIR, her son left home at 3pm on July 2 and did not return. She attempted to locate him and received a phone call informing her that her son had been beaten up by an unknown person and was seriously injured at the Umiam Flyover.
From there he was taken to Bhoirymbong Community Health Centre for emergency care but was referred to Shillong Civil Hospital and from there to NEIGRIHMS.
However, due to Ajay’s severe condition, he was transferred once again to Nazareth Hospital and died there on July 5.
