The Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (Roads), Khliehriat, informed today that restoration work is ongoing to replace a bridge that was washed away due to the floods brought about by extreme bad weather near Shymplong village on the night of May 16.
As a result, movement of traffic on this portion of road has been halted indefinitely. The destruction of the bridge has cut off several villages in the remote parts of the district.
