Meghalaya TMC has constituted its mahila block committees in North and South Tura today.
TMC mahila president, Selma D Shira and West Garo Hills district convenor, Richard Mrong Marak were present at the meeting.
Marak, who participated in the event said, “The response we are receiving all over the state is overwhelming. Women from across the state have been showering their support for TMC, as they know that it is the only credible alternative.”
The TMC leader accused the NPP-led MDA government of backstabbing the people and belittled their mandate. “Pressing issues like unemployment and mis-governance stand at peak rendering people impoverished. The aspirations of women and youth are trampled under the tragic rule of CM Conrad Sangma in the last four-and-a-half years”, he stated.
“Dr. Mukul Sangma had launched social welfare programs to develop human capital development, but the sitting CM is only trying to buy people before the elections,” he said.
Meghalaya TMC extends its gratitude to the elected committee members and urges them to work for the welfare of the women of Meghalaya to usher in a new dawn in the state.
