The United Democratic Party (UDP) organised a reception ceremony at Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills district to welcome people who have joined the party in the State.
Most of these new members belong to different political parties, the Congress, Trinamool Congress, Hills State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) and National People’s Party (NPP) who have switched over to UDP now.
UDP working president Titosstarwell Chyne who was present to welcome the new entrants said the party belongs to the people and each member should put in efforts to strengthen the party.
Chyne stated that the UDP has made no mistake in selecting Jeslanroy Nongsiej, who will vie in the upcoming district council election from Mawkyrwat and called for support from all the party workers.
