The Leadership Training Service (LTS), North East Region organised a one day summer camp for students at Pastoral Centre in Malki recently.
Altogether 84 students from six schools within the city took part in the camp.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger who attended the camp as the chief guest, exhorted the students to take leadership as a collective effort. He said a leader should be “humble and let ego take the back seat.” He also spoke about the prevailing drug menace among the youth and encouraged student to be the beacon of social change.
Sacred Heart Theological College Director of Youth Ministry, Fr. Alayee Pius in his session highlighted on self awareness and self acceptance.
Fr. Johnny Eapen, Professor Sacred Heart Theological College, Br. John P Tom CMI and L. Adaziio Coordiantors of LTS Shillong Region, and animators of various schools were also present at the inaugural function.
At the night camp, Br. Sanjosh Sangma and Br. Cherian involved students into leadership oriented activities.
LTS summer camp is an annual event wherein the registered students from various schools of Shillong take active participation in leadership training activities.
