Meghalaya is set to see more rains till June 4. This was stated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its forecast today.
According to the IMD, the cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and neighbourhoods extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level persists.
Under its influence, moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at many places is likely over Meghalaya from today till June 4.
“Thunderstorm and lightning and gusty winds with wind speed of 30-40 Kmph is very likely to occur over most parts of Meghalaya during May 31 to June 4,” the IMD said.
Meanwhile, Sohra continues to experience heavy rains. According to the IMD data, today’s rain measured in RKM Sohra was recorded at 218.6 mm while that of the lower Sohra was 193.2 mm.
It was followed by Pynursla (203.3 mm), Mawsynram (178.8 mm), Williamnagar (150 mm), Resubelpara (80.2 mm) and Mawkyrwat (80 mm).
