Meghalaya began October well with no Covid-related deaths reported in the state today. There were, however, 155 new cases and 108 recoveries.
This was the first day since September 6 that the state reported no Covid deaths.
East Khasi Hills recorded 90 new cases today, West Jaiñtia Hills 27, West Khasi Hills 26 and 12 between the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 68 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 20 and 20 between the other nine districts.
There are now 1,666 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 805 active cases, West Khasi Hills 399, Ri-Bhoi 179, West Jaiñtia Hills 186, South West Khasi Hills 39, West Garo Hills 28, East Jaiñtia Hills 16, South West Garo Hills six, East Garo Hills four, North Garo Hills three and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 81,445 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,666 are active, 78,375 have recovered and 1,404 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 96.23 percent. The fatality is 1.72 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 145.00 and for new deaths is 2.14.
