As part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, whose aim is to make India tuberculosis-free by 2025, several companies handed over food baskets to under-treatment patients in Byrnihat today.
The distribution event saw the presence of key figures including Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun, District Medical and Health Officer Dr TS Momin, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr E Kalwing and representatives from several companies such as Maithan Alloys Pvt Ltd, Shyam Century Ferrous Ltd and Pioneer Carbide Pvt Ltd. These companies have pledged to support 36 TB patients by providing nutritional food throughout their treatment.
Sohtun also announced a contribution of Rs 60,000 to help the TB patients.
