A student of St. Edmunds Higher Secondary School was seriously injured after he was hit by a two-wheeler today morning at Laitumkhrah here.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, where the boy can be seen coming out of the gate near Anton Hall, and as he was crossing the road, the two-wheeler coming from the right-hand side at full speed hit the student and threw him a few feet away.
The student identified as Edmund Marpan (17) was rushed to Woodland Hospital for his head and leg injuries. Later, his family members shifted him to Guwahati Neurological Research Centre.
It was also informed that Marpan had just completed his school examinations for the day when the incident happened.
Police have detained the rider of the two-wheeler. He was identified as Eukratis Mylliempdah (22), a first semester BA student.
