Shillong, Jul 25: The SPARK Meghalaya certification day was held at Nongtalang Government Higher Secondary School, Nongtalang, celebrating the achievements of students who have successfully completed the programme.
The programme was attended by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui in the presence of the District School Education Officer (DSEO), West Jaiñtia Hills, the Assistant Commissioner, the CEO of Avenues, school authorities, teachers, students, and other guests.
Addressing the gathering, Rymbui encouraged students to embrace innovation, creativity, and problem-solving as essential skills for the future. He stated that initiatives such as SPARK Meghalaya are helping transform classrooms into spaces where students learn through exploration, experimentation, and practical application.
The minister emphasised that the state government remains committed to strengthening quality education by promoting STEM learning, digital literacy, and experiential education in schools across the State. He urged students to remain curious, think critically, and use their knowledge to contribute positively to society.
One of the highlights of the programme was the students’ presentation and demonstration of projects showcasing how STEM education has positively impacted their learning and everyday lives. Through innovative models and practical solutions, the students demonstrated the skills they had acquired under the SPARK Meghalaya initiative, reflecting their creativity, confidence, and understanding of scientific concepts.
